Jailer Rajnikant Movie Review

Jailer
Rajinikanth's Resurgence Amidst Pan-Indian Flavours
streaming on Amazon Prime
◽️ In the pulsating realm of Tamil cinema, where the line between action and artistry often blurs, Jailer emerges as a noteworthy addition, hinging on a symphony of elements that blend seamlessly to concoct a riveting experience.
◽️ The opening act is nothing short of a kinetic spectacle, where Anirudh's melodic sorcery and Vijay Kartik Kannan's cinematographic wizardry fuse into a mesmerizing overture.

◽️ The film's zenith is undoubtedly its propulsive screenplay, deftly catapulting audiences into a relentless whirlwind of events. Rajini's enthralling mission kicks off with an electrifying momentum that persists until the intermission. However, the latter half of the narrative encounters some turbulence, presenting an uneven ride for the audience. While the cameo appearances by the likes of Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Makrand, and Shiva Rajkumar are commendable embellishments.

◽️ The movie unfurls its tale around a retired prison warden thrust unwillingly back into the throes of action when his police officer son's entanglement with a nefarious underworld syndicate takes a perilous twist.

◽️ Jailer marks Rajinikanth's triumphant return to the forefront of Tamil cinema, a phoenix rising from the ashes of previous disappointments. Nelson Dilipkumar's direction, combined with the scintillating score and visual aesthetics, sets the stage for an exhilarating cinematic spectacle. While the narrative stumbles in parts, the film's larger-than-life ambition and Rajinikanth's commanding presence ultimately vindicate its place in the annals of Indian cinema. Vinayakan and Yogi Babu have substantial roles, but female actors (Ramya, Tamannaah, et al) are there as fillers, nothing more. That takes me to Kaavaalaya song which looked better in reels. It's inconsequential in the movie. That said, the music by Anirudh Ravichander is extraordinary throughout.

◽️ Many a time it made me recall Kamal Haasan's Vikram. Do watch this movie as it engages you with fast-paced entertainment.
